What do we do at Hyreable?

We are committed to getting more BIPOC professionals hired and promoted in the world of sports.

We do this in two main ways:

01 Our Database

All BIPOC professionals who want to work in the world of sports can create a profile and be added to our database for free. Adding your profile to the database means organizations are more likely to find you!

We use "world of sports" intentionally as we want to support BIPOC professionals who work or want to work within collegiate and professional sports as well as sport-adjacent organizations and nonprofits.

Our database is a resource for organizations, teams, and institutions looking to expand and diversify their candidate pool. We provide you access to a larger pool of potential candidates to consider for your job openings, and help you identify and connect with suitable and qualified Black and Brown candidates more efficiently. You can search for candidates by specific criteria and reach out to them about current job openings and future opportunities.

02 Our Learning Platform

We are candidate-focused and provide skill-based learning that bridges the gap between a candidate's capabilities and an employer's requirements, showcasing the transferable skills and competencies that make candidates a great fit for the position.

We provide resume and interview support, a library of trainings and resources, and quarterly webinars and discussions to help candidates navigate the current job market.

JEN FRY, PhD

Co-founder & CEO

Dr. Jen Fry (she/her) is Sports Geographer, tech founder, veteran coach, and sought-after speaker and educator.

She also knows the struggle of scaling your career in sports. Eight years ago, she was applying for dozens of jobs--only to receive one interview. Frustrated, she reached out to a mentor. That mentor gave her some blunt feedback, and Jen used it to adjust her approach and overhaul her resume. Within three months, everything changed and she had dozens of teams wanting to interview her.

Folks heard about her success and started reaching out to her for advice and support -- and she's been helping Black and Brown folks advance their careers in sports ever since. She's thrilled launch Hyreable and help you gain the skills and knowledge you need to put you on the career path you want to be on, not the one you are forced to take.

She also owns JenFryTalks, a social justice education firm that explores the intersection of conflict and DEI, and Coordle, a dynamic and convenient app that allows you to move your group effectively, effortlessly, and expertly. She received her PhD in Sports Geography from Michigan State University.

Frequently Asked Questions

If your question isn't answered here, use the contact form below to reach out.

  • Who is Hyreable for?

Hyreable is for those BIPOC professionals who are looking to expand their network, uplevel their skills, and communicate their value as they start or scale their career within sport and sport-adjacent organizations, teams, and institutions.

BIPOC stands for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. We understand that there is discussion around acronyms and what is appropriate to describe people who may or may not have similar experiences. To read up more on the term, here is a great article by the YWCA.

Hyreable helps organizations, teams, and institutions looking to expand and diversify your candidate pool by providing access to our database. Through Hyreable, organizations can access a larger pool of potential candidates to consider for job openings, as well as identify and connect with suitable and qualified Black and Brown candidates more efficiently. Hyreable can be used as a recruitment tool, as organizations can search for candidates and reach out to them about current job openings and future opportunities.

  • Candidates: Do you offer resume help and interview prep?

    Short answer: Yes, very soon!

Longer answer: We'll be rolling out beta testing of our resume and interview prep in July to a small group of folks who have joined Hyreable.

We're also building out our library of resources to help your build the skills you need to land that next job and scale your career. Some resources in the library will be free for all Hyreable members. You'll also have an opportunity to upgrade your membership and gain access to more resources and support from the Hyreable team.

  • Candidates: Who can access my information?

    We're so you asked!

Your name, candidate summary, email address, LinkedIn profile, education information, employment information, and resume will be available to those organizations with access to the database.

If you want to keep your information and profile in the database but not be searchable, you can select that option.

Your demographic information (birthday, gender, race, etc.) will be for internal use only and won't be shared with organizations with access to the database.

If you have any additional questions about this, please contact us at [email protected].

  • Organizations: How do we get access to the database?

You pay a fee to gain access to the database.

We're actively adding candidates to the database and will provide skill-based learning for those candidates to help them bridge the gap between their capabilities and your organization's requirements, showcasing the transferable skills and competencies that make them a strong fit for the position.

While we are building our database, we are providing beta access for a small group of organizations, teams, and institutions. We plan to open access to the database in early September. If you'd like to be there first to know about those spots, complete this interest form.
